Palu is a very hot and dry city of about 330,000 and the capital of central Sulawesi. We went there for our return flight to Jakarta. The night minibus trip from Ampana took about 10h.

Street in Palu

Palu has lots of restaurants, warnet (internet cafes), restaurants, and even a pedestrian-only shopping street.

Church in the center of Palu

We stayed at Hotel Sentral, which was good and quiet. You can walk to the center in about 15 minutes from there.

The Palu river

From the small airport, which is only 5km from the city, we flew back to Frankfurt, stopping in Makassar, Jakarta, Singapore, and Amsterdam (about 30h total).
